saturday: up pretty early to leave the aire, had got very busy - nearly full - in the evening.
nice day, sunny!
paid up (machine), didnt need to use the services for once and off....
after about five/ten minutes crossed into switzerland....went through an actual 'border', mean
looking swiss 'guards' with guns, has anyone told then about the eu?, anyway, no passports!
just drove straight through....
planned a longish drive, about an hour, to an aire at langenthal, said provided free elec and water,
when we got there it was just a car park attached to a motorhome distributor, not a great view, or feel to
it, and pretty tight parking, so as it didn't really matter too much vis a vis time, we decided to move on
....drove another couple of hours to romont....a very pretty medieval town on a hill...
sat nav took us up a very tight steep path-like road to the aire co-ordinates, but once there we
couldn't find it....two aires books had them completely wrong!
....wondering what we were going to do, as no other aires close by, we saw a sign for services and
hey presto, the aire!
it was perched on a hill, very steep parking, but we made it! chocked up and settled in, free elec and
water (amazing for switzerland!), close to the town, beautiful view, and no charge to park!
wandered into the town after unpacking, just to see what it was like - very quiet - found a glass painting
museum, strange!, where a wedding reception was taking place, but otherwise everything shut....
got back to the van and sat outside surveying the scenery before our dinner....listening to the tinkling of
cow and sheep bells in the valley below....really nice (we were very glad we had moved!).
