seeing derek and tish again!

wednesday: was a v. wet day yesterday! tim and pen left in the am, so said last goodbye to them;
they are now travelling along the coast so we probably won't cross paths on this trip again....
decided (wisely) to go to meknes in the van in the aft., but didn’t really get to see much ‘cos of the
weather. did some internetting at mcdonalds, in their car-park!, and then had a very quick wander
about in the town, before it chucked it down…..we took shelter under a large umbrella on the rooftop
of a well-placed cafe, and had a warming hot choccie, but it was still pretty miserable so we ran back
to the van and decided to give up : (
we saw the bab al mansour gateway - which was one thing we really wanted to see, but didn't manage
too much more, which was a real shame.
after we left the centre we drove to marjane, as not far, for a few supplies before heading back to the
site to find that our friends derek and tish (we met them in france, marseille) were already parked up!
it was v. nice to see them, and there was lots of catching up to do….
tish made some lovely snacks, and we shared travelling stories until it was pretty late….
lots more rain in the night, and as campsite v. busy, no elec in the am!
moving on today, to fes – see if we can do a guided tour of the complicated medina!
not a long journey, about an hour and a half. we arrived to find a v. damp site, lots of mud and puddles;
the van is filthy too! (not good).
we have parked up and are waiting to hear from the guardian if a half day tour is possible….
