friday: up early as leaving tinerhir today, and as a longish (3 hours) journey planned, don't
want to hang around! didn't see david and annie to say goodbye - but left a little note!
onto the services etc., paid up and off by 9am (MT) - v. good!
stopped for supplies in a smallish town after about an hour....and managed to get most things we
needed, then pressed on to mergouza.
landscape got distinctly desert-like, sand started to appear by the side of the road, and we saw more
camels wandering around too....even a cute baby one.
got to mergouza, camping auberge la tradition, and realised straight away that tim and pen have
already left here! : (
its a shame (disappointed we are) - but we might be able to catch them up a bit later on, before we
all cross over into spain....will see.
site is nice, large restaurant, clean facilities (but hole in floor loos!), and its not too busy. there is just
a large desert trekking party, 'amsterdam to dakar challenge', from holland and a few spanish and
french vans.
we've found a good spot, right at the bottom of the rose coloured dunes : ) it's rather amazing.
p is doing some work this aft., and then we have a sunset desert trip, on camels, planned for
4.30pm (MT), followed by another tagine dinner - what a treat!
