mirleft to tiznit

heading east!

sunny
View motorhome adventure on spiderface's travel map.

sunday: pottered around the site/van yestrday am, then after lunch scootered up to the old castle on
the hill for a really good view of mirleft and the coastline.
had a snoop around the ‘three camels’ boutique hotel, just below it, supposed to be the best in town,
lovely place, quiet and relaxed, pricey though!
after that scooted to the beach for a walk along by the rocks we’d seen from sally’s – not at all busy,
considering saturday and glorious weather!
then back into mirleft for another wander around the shops, pick up some supplies and have a drink
in one of the small cafes….a little cat adopted us, and sat on p’s flip flops in the sun for a while!
then more pottering around the site, getting ready for the move in the am, another van turned up in the
aft., which makes 8!, so its pretty tight and cramped now - def. time to get going....
woke to a lovely sunny day - getting rather used to it we are - and had an early start today as we had
been asked to move the van at 8am (MT), from our spot in the corner to the middle of the courtyard,
because the local builders were worried they would drop things onto the roof from the building they are
renovating next door…! (nice of them to say really!).
so, we had a quickish brekkie, said goodbye to everyone (hans), and then got back on the road, around
9.30am (MT).
we are headed to tiznit, famous for its jewellery souk, only an hour or so away, and turned away from the
sea after about half an hour.
sadly we are now starting our 3 week return journey, inland, through the mountains and back to tanger….
it was a nice drive through the hilly, quiet, countryside, but quite a rough old road, bumpy! then before
we knew it we arrived in tiznit, which from first impressions is a very nice town, clean, with wide streets,
and a huge red walled medina – which we will visit later on….
we found the site, riad asllaf, and its a big one, pretty new, with good facilities - its def. rather nice to have
a bit more space….although there was something rather special about the small courtyard at le nomade....
we've parked up/chocked up etc., and plan to sit in the sun for a bit/use the free wifi in the office, then
have our lunch and scoot back into town – we haven’t arrived at a site so early before!! ha ha, so we have
the whole day ahead of us to get things done! : )
