thursday: chilled out yesterday aft; walked to the beach bar/internet cafe to see if we could connect
there as wifi in the van was useless! but no go, then decided to try at reception, no good either, so gave
up, took comps back to the van and then wandered up the wonderful beach - both ways - in the
warm sunshine.
the landscape has def. started to look quite desert-like too, lots of dunes appearing and everywhere is
much more barren and less green, it made us look forward to getting nearer to the sahara when we start
to travel up the east side of the country!
walked back along the bottom level of the site (more wild-type camping as no elec. down there) and
bumped into anne-marie, who had arrived at the site a day or so before us. chatted to her for a while and
then back to the van for tea and early night.
waves v. loud but rather relaxing too, wind dropped to almost nothing and the sky was so starry -
it was stunning (but hard to photograph!).
then woke to, you guessed it, another gorgeous day : )
moving on today to mirleft/sidi ifni - our last two coastal stops. v. fast pack up/pay up and go, onto
the roads in record time, 9.20am (MT)!
plan was to stop at mirleft as on way, and check out a v. small campsite, camping le nomade, if full, press
on to sidi ifni, where there is another large beach site.
lovely journey through the sous massa national park, and a couple of red/terracotta towns before arriving
at mirleft, a white washed town, high on the cliffs.
amazingly a dutch man was just leaving the site so we have a spot....its a v. chilled out place, small is def.
beautiful!
have got the washing in the machine and have been catching up with internetting as they have a v.
good/fast wifi connection here.
plan now is to stay a couple of days, and scoot to sidi ifni/mirleft town from here, stay warm in the lovely
sunshine 'til sunday maybe, and then head back inland, and east towards the mountains.

friday: had a lovely aft. pottering around the site yesterday, got the washing done and pretty much dried,
cooked our supper outside and then, sadly, another van arrived and took the remaining space - right next
to us!
shame really as will block out our sunshine and makes us feel pretty hemmed in too....
nice french family though, they got everything out of their van and set up 'house' as soon as they cut the
engine!
otherwise chilled right out it was, the owner, fred, introduced himself and then a few of the french van
owners went up and sat in his house, next to the site, and laughed the night away.
it was another beautiful starry night, and not cold at all....
woke to a gorgeous day and decided we'd scoot to sidi ifni and check out some other campsites - see
if it was worth moving, to get some more space, and sun.
lateish brekkie, relaxed get up and go, onto the roads mid am.
checked out sally's b+b here in mirleft (in lonely planet) and just down the road, before we left -
a gorgeous place with a fantastic view, quiet tempting as well, nice rooms starting at dh.550! (cheap!).
then onto the winding coast road, stunning, all the way to sidi ifni, about 27km.
found the campsites easily and all 4 that we looked around were extremely busy. the one right by the
sea was probably the nicest and we chatted to an english couple, diane and larry, for a while, getting the
low down and talking travelling, morocco, and solar panels!
then went for some lunch to a place larry had recommended - chicken, chips, dahl, olive dip, bread and
two cokes all for dh.65.00/£5! it was absolutely delicious.
after that scootered around the very smart town for a bit before coming back on the beautiful coast road
for a potter around mirleft.
sweet little place, all painted blue and pink! bought some fruit and bread, then chatted to larbe, a v. friendly
local, for quite a while, before scooting back to the site for a bit of internetting before tea.
after all that we haven't quite decided what to do about moving from here either, as we do rather like it, and
moving is always a faff! plus we do have v. good internet here....ummmm!
so, thinking about it we are, and will decide manyana! : )

saturday: have decided to stay at le nomade for today at least!
its a lovely sunny day, bit cloudy at first, but that's burned off....
might scoot up to the castle on the hill above mirleft today, or go down to the beach by sally's for a wander....
will def. get some more washing done and just chill out this am though.
c doing some route planning for the east side; its hard to believe we've already been in morocco 3 weeks!
(and only have 3 left!) - time flies and all that!
