monday: woke up to a sunny day, lovely and quiet in the courtyard....only 3 vans in there!
p went for a run, no rush to get onto the road today, headed for marbella, hotel casa la concha,
about an hour and a half away.
want to stop for gpl on the way as malaga is the last place they sell it before morocco!
packed up and paid up, reasonable 16 euros, bought bread from the little shop on site, and onto
the road by 12ish....about 40 mins. to malaga, then another 40 or so to marbella.
started to cloud over as we moved towards marbella, quite big black clouds looming over the
mountains....
we got pretty lost trying to find the hotel, but eventually found it!
its a really gorgeous place, small boutique b&b kind of thing, we have our own little cottage called
michelle....
we have a large open plan bedroom/sitting room, a stunning bathroom (with massive shower) with
two basins and two mirrors! and a small terrace with sofa and chairs, and table and chairs.
the main house is about 2 secs. up a small pathway - breakfast is served over there - they
have a large (cold) pool and a big sitting area outside with loads of magazines, games etc....its a very
chilled out place.
we've parked the van outside on the street, got out our stuff, and are now sat in our cottage relaxing
with ella fitzgerald on the cd player, drinking coffee and tea (to warm up!) before getting ready for
our new years eve dinner at messina in marbella old town!
tuesday: late night (2am!) and late eating too....not conducive to a good nights sleep!
chatted to marie-helene for a bit last night (the owner of the b&b) before getting our taxi to town....then
had a truly delicious dinner at messina, all went without a hitch too....had our 12 lucky grapes, party bags
(lots of noise) and cava at midnight! then a quick taxi ride back to the b&b : )
we woke to a sunny day, but sadly it quickly changed to drizzle.
slow breakfast in the main house and got chatting to the other couple staying here - looked at their pics,
and swopped lots of travelling tips and places to eat etc., we got back to the cottage at lunchtime!
plan is to get the scoot off and explore marbella/puerto banus today, + have some lunch/dinner - but we
are waiting for the rain to stop....its a chill out day though, no real need to do anything at all - rather nice : )
