monday: had a relaxed day yesterday, never made it out - but did eat our lunch outside - first
time, which was lovely.
had our scrummy meal at vespa's in the eve, just as good as the first time! they even put a sparkler
on to p's cheesecake and sang happy birthday! bless.
then up earlish today as back onto the road....
+ would you believe it - woke up to an absolutely gorgeous day!
had brekkie looking at the penon in the sunshine, then last packing, and taking bits back to the
van, before trying to get it out of the next door neighbours driveway!
happily it didn't take as long as we'd all thought it would (very good driving!), then got the scooter
back on, waved goodbye and off we went - back on the road after our week's holiday! : )
rather odd it was.
first off headed to alicante for gpl as in need of that, then found a supermarket to restock our empty
decided we didn't really need to check out the repair place today, as - fingers crossed - its all been
organised for us by the lovely man in the other repair place (at vilafranca del penedes), so heading for
a small aire at elche (nearest one to alicante) - in palm plantations and olive groves (sounded rather nice).
but got there to find a very closed off and delapidated aire, and no other vans there.
we couldn't find anyone to ask if it was ok to stay, so decided to head off and find another one from the
book at la marina....
we got there to find a lovely place with plenty of spaces, run by a dutch couple. it has really beautiful
facilities, and very large plots all for 14 euros a night (incl. elec. and wifi!).
however, after checking on the sat nav., we now have a VERY early start tom though as headed back
towards alicante for the motorhome repair place (we rather overshot it today - we are a bit out of practice
with this aire/route planning thing it seems!! ha ha).
anyway, the bottom line is that we are 50 mins. from the repair place and want to be there at 9am!!!!
after chatting to the owner of the aire, and parking up in our plot, we sat and had our lunch in the sunshine
- a rare and special treat - and then once we'd got organised (b'day cards up, that kind of thing!), we decided
to chill out for the rest of the day! : )
well, it was a busy one compared to the last few days!!
