monday: very cold am! although sunny. so heating on again....must be going through our gas!!
lots of activity at the aire this am, people moving on, sorting out services, motorhome maintenance
etc.! a little van came round to the aire selling bread....which saved us a trip....
got sorted out and onto the road by 10am, heading to narbonne to the repair place...
arrived to find motorhome shop shut, well not opening 'til 2pm, so did the food shopping, and sat
in mcdonalds until they opened at 2pm...
like bees to a honey pot it was....motorhomes swarming in at 2pm....all sitting around narbonne in
various carparks like us!
we got in and spoke to someone who spoke pretty good english to find out that they really couldn't
help us : ( - didn't have the right machine to test for water/damp inside the roof.....they did recommend
we went to another of their shops near toulouse, but that's pretty off our route.
lots of umming and arrhing and then decided to head for carcassonne instead, via a nearby aire
for water, and try to get the repairs done in spain (there is a place near an aire outside of barcelona,
according to our book!).
got to the small aire at fonties d'aude to find it closed off, but the water still on : ) filled up then headed
into carcassonne, lots of narrow streets to negotiate in the van, always very stressful, to find we needed
to head out and park literally right outside the cite itself, within walking distance....lots of other
motorhomes here, so chocked up and trying to relax!
lighter socket gave up the ghost mid journey too - which could have been serious, it charges
the sat nav!!!! : ) (but only a fuse, so easily remedied).
anyway, we're here, gorgeous eve, full moon in purple pink sky....off for a wander in a mo, get the
lay of the land before tea.
