thursday: another windy night, but we were glad we had moved, and as the scoot was already
on the back (we had to put it on to move aire's) we saved time in the am.
today much warmer, still cloudy, but the sun is trying hard to peep through....
off to the supermarket for supplies - and chatted to a dutch couple who had moved at the same time
from the aire....then onto the road towards montelimar, via orange, about an hour and a half journey
time.
past the foreign legion base, a roundabout with a jet in the middle, and the l'arc de triompe (orange's
smaller version) and then back into the hills - to a small aire in a perched village, alba la romaine.
got the scoot off after lunch, about 2.30pm, chatted to an english couple who had arrived before
us, then off to montelimar, half an hour away.
wi-fi had run out this am, so needed an orange shop....found one as soon as we arrived which
was great, no need to find the tourist office pronto for a change!
then into a couple of nougat factories for some tasting and buying! : )
first one was great, like going back in time!, a very friendly lady owner/manager let us wander right
into the factory part, where all the nougat was stacked up on long trays waiting to be cut, then we watched
another lady wrapping all the little squares ready for eating!
after that a quick-ish wander around the town before scooting back to the van, on a lovely winding road,
for tea.
we're headed back down into the valley tomorrow, towards arles....planning to go via remoulins to see the
roman three tiered pont du gard, and might stop for the night as there is an aire in town with good services....
